All participants on the MCC Boards are subject to but are not limited to the following:
* All content on MCC must comply with all laws of the State of California and the US Federal Government.
* All board and website activities must be in English.
* All users of the board, chat and website must be at least 18 years old. If a user is under 18 they must be over the age of 13 and have permission from their parent or guardian.
- Users that are found out to be under the age of 13 will find their account and chat privileges deleted immediately with no warning or explanation.
All guidelines and policies apply to all forums, threads, posts, private messages, profiles, avatars, signatures, and chat conversations within MCC. Please read the policies listed below. You are responsible for reading and knowing the policies. “I did not know it was against the rules” is never a valid excuse! Violation of a policy listed below can result in you being permanently banned from the MCC bulletin board and chat. If you are not sure if something is in violation of an MCC policy, ask a Manager before proceeding. Managers have the final say about what happens on the MCC bulletin board and chat and their decisions are final.
Rules and Policies:
Inappropriate or Non G-Rated Discussions
All posts, chat conversations, private messages, and profiles must be appropriate for members of any age. All posts containing subjects such as foul language, cussing, nudity, “adult topics”, violence, drugs, alcohol, or any other subject viewed as inappropriate by the Managers will be removed immediately. This also refers to the posting of links to webpages that are not appropriate for children. If you are unsure if something is considered to be safe or appropriate, contact a Manager before proceeding.
Personal Information
Asking for or volunteering personal information is NEVER okay on the MCC site. Personal information consists of Middle Name, Last Name, Town or City, Email Address, Instant Messenger IDs (Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, MSN, etc), MCC or Millsberry.com Passwords or Account Information, School Information, Photos, Links to Online Profiles, or any other information which is considered unsafe to release by the Managers of MCC. Personal Information that is okay to release includes First Name, Age, Gender, and State.
For more information on Internet Safety for children, please visit http://www.wiredkids.org/index.html.
Unacceptable/Rude Behavior
Any posts that are considered to be mean, hateful, threatening, rude, or harassing will be removed by the Management immediately. MCC does not endorse or allow attacks against another member for any reason. Any person found to post messages that attack or intentionally hurt the feelings of another member will be punished and possibly banned from MCC. If you have been a victim of an attack by another member while on the MCC Bulletin Board or Chat System, contact a Manager by sending an email to MillsberryMCC@aol.com.
Controversial Topics
Posts containing controversial topics such as abortion, death penalty, religion, or politics are not to be posted on MCC and will be removed immediately. This applies to all forums, threads, posts, private messages, profiles, avatars, signatures, and chat conversations within MCC.
Multiple Copies of the Same Thread
Posting the same messages more than one time on MCC is against the rules. Your messages should be posted one time, in the appropriate board and replies/updates should be posted in the same thread. For example, if you list a yard sale in the yard sale board on Monday at 8am and drop the prices on the items at 6pm on Monday, do NOT create a new thread. Reply to your original message and post the update there. Multiple copies of a thread will be removed and your post count will be adjusted appropriately.
Posting Messages in the Correct Forum
MCC has been split in to several forums, each with its own topic. When posting, be sure you are placing your thread in the correct forum. Any threads appearing in the incorrect forum will be moved or deleted. Do not take offense if your thread has disappeared. Look for it in a more appropriate location or ask a manager if they no why it no longer appears where you placed it.
Message Subjects
When starting new threads on MCC, the subject should give an idea of what the thread is about. At no time should a subject be a title like “OMG” or “Look here”. This policy applies to ALL boards on MCC. Example: If you are posting about a great yard sale find, your subject should say something about a yard sale or what the item you found was. Subjects that do not follow this format will be edited or the entire thread may be deleted. Note:If the thread you are creating is for an auction, you MUST follow the posting rules for the auction board, found in one of top posts on that board.
Inappropriate or Irritating Posting styles
Posting a thread topic or a message in all caps (I WANT A LUCKY CHARMS HAMMOCK) is viewed as yelling. Threads and Posts should be in proper uppercase/lowercase form or should be in all lowercase. Posts using tHiS tYpInG sTyLe are hard to read and will be removed. This applies to all forums, threads, posts, private messages, profiles, avatars, signatures, and chat conversations within MCC.
Spamming/Excessive Posting
Spamming is the posting of messages that do not apply to the topic of the board or thread where they appear, as well as the sending of private messages to people who did not ask you to PM them and view your messages as an intrusion. Another form of spamming is posting one or two word messages that do not form a complete thought or contain gibberish: “LOL”, “J”, “YES”, “kljdoafhsiedf”, etc. At no time is spamming acceptable on MCC and posts which violate this policy will be removed immediately. Additional examples of spamming or excessive posting are posting responses to threads that are several weeks old when no response is reasonably required (such as great YS finds) or thanking every person that comments on your great YS find or bids on your MBay auction.
When a person is seen to be spamming or posting excessively, the posts will be removed and the following actions will be taken (these decisions are FINAL and will not be changed once they have been carried out):
1st offense – post count will be reduced by 10%
2nd offense – post count will be reduced by 25%
3rd offense - post count will be reduced by 50%
4th offense - post count will be reduced to zero
Note: If at any time the management feels the messages being posted pose a danger to other members, are disrespectful, do not follow the other rules of MCC, or if a person does not stop spamming when asked to, then a suspension or ban may be put in place.

Signatures are strictly limited to an overall size of no more than 500 pixels wide and 250 pixels tall. All text, images, glitterpics, etc must fit within the size of the box:

and must be appropriate for members of all ages. Pictures which are larger than the maximum allowable size will be edited or deleted by the managers of MCC. All rules concerning what is appropriate in threads and posts also apply to the content of pictures and images appearing in posts.
Favoritism Posts/Polls

This applies to business or personal websites and profiles appearing in all forums, threads, posts, private messages, profiles, avatars, signatures, and chat conversations within MCC. At no time should a link to a personal or competing website appear on MCC.
Scamming
Attempting to take advantage of another player is a major violation of MCC rules and will not be tolerated. Other examples of scamming include trying to obtain items from another player for much lower than market price or failure to follow through on auction or trade commitments. Repeat offenders will be permanently removed from MCC.
Impersonation of Other MCC Members
Creating MCC names that are similar to another person’s name in an attempt to cause confusion or act with malice is not allowed. Any MCC names found to be close to the name of another member will be removed and the offender will be banned.
Multiple Usernames
Each person is allowed only ONE MCC Bulletin Board name and ONE MCC Chat name. The two names should be the same or close to the same to help others with identifying them in the two areas. Multiple names for the same person will be removed. If a second person at your home would like to sign up for MCC, you should first send a Personal Message to the username, admin, on the MCC message board, seeking permission to add a second name.
