Memorising the Quran gives great rewards and you will be favoured on the Day of Judgement if you do so, for you will be asked to read verses from the Quran whilst descending higher into the heavens. BUT, he who memorises verses from the Quran and forgets them will be committing a major sin.

I didn't no this and it really struck me when i heard this fact! Just goes to show how we should revise all the verses we've memorised and bear in mind the consequences of forgetting them. But this shouldnt put you off memorising, as you will be rewarded so highly for it! Just make sure you dont forget the verses you do know.

Here are some of the things we can do to help our brothers and sisters:

1) Tahajjud & Dua - There is no doubt that there is nothing more greater than turning to Allah (swt) to seek His Mercy and His Assistance during these difficult times and as the Prophet (saw) said:

"Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?'"
(Al-Bukhari)

2) Donate Money - The Palestinian people are in urgent need for your donations for urgent medical aid and you can donate to Interpal. Go to www.interpal.org and follow the online instructions.

3) Attending the Demonstration.

4) Sign the following petition: http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Israel-Sanctions/

5) Email/Telephone/Send Letters/Meet your local MP - The MPs have been elected to serve us and we should make sure that we contact them and pressurise them to do something against this Israeli brutality.

6) Call the Foreign & Commonwealth Office - Express your concern with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, please call 020 7008 1500.

..."Think outside the box"...

These wise words were spoken by the inspirational Sheikh Khaled Yasin. At a recent talk i went to, he enforced how Muslims nowadays should do exactly that - "Think outside the box".

What views do we hold on current issues, such as the economic crisis, euthanasia, GM crops, abortion and homosexuality? Why don't we talk about these things in our Islamic communities?

We should be able to give our views on these issues. Thus, when we are asked about them, we can give logical opinions with sources that trace back from the Quran and Sunnah. Inevitably, this is a discrete form of Dawah.

Nowadays, the most powerful weapon is the media. Therefore, in order to correct the false stereotypes that people have of Muslims, the method to go by it is by using the media. So, sheikh khaled and his team have opened a couple of websites that are targeted to both Muslims and non-Muslims.

1) Purpose TV
We do have channels like "Peace TV" & "The Islam Channel" but these are directed towards Muslims. The plan is to make another channel - like the BBC & the Discovery Channel - that are ideal for everyone. If you go on the website you can watch programmes that inform us about current issues. If you pay for prime, you can watch movies - such as Oceans Eleven, but withtout the nudity and violence.

I have finally updated my layout, and it's been almost a year and a half now! I'm not going to use the excuse that "I was busy", since it really wasn't that! I was just lazy. But Alahamdulillah, I overcame that laziness and got it done!

OK, so about the layout.
I've always been so fascinated by the universe... mainly because it's so big in comparison to us human beings. I feel Islam and Science go hand in hand and that they do not contradict eachother. Learning more about Science increases my faith and when pondering over the majestic universe, I am always left astounded. SubhanAllah. This lead me to think about this new layout. When we look at our body, and see how intricate its design is, and how everything functions so beautifully...but then you look at something like our solar system and how the planets "swim" in perfect orbit...and you realise how all of this has been designed by our Creator. It makes you appreciate how powerful The Almighty is. And just how He can create the universe, and give us life in just a flash, He can take that life away from us and destroy the universe in just a flash.

Oh and another thing I added is that "Peace" banner on the side, written in three languages: english, arabic, chinese.
I find different cultures and languages so amazing I had to make one and add it in :D

Anyways, I hope you like the new layout. I think the layout will remain like this for a long time, unless I get a spark of inspiration and decide to change it.
